Freddie Freeman of the Atlanta Braves was named the National League MVP on Thursday night, Nov. 12, and the news was cheered in many areas of Orange County — where he’s still remembered as being Freddie Freeman of El Modena High, Class of 2007.

Here was some of the reaction on Twitter …

Orange County baseball produced an MVP & Cy Young winner this year. Congrats to Freddie Freeman and Shane Bieber!

This also reminded us that Freeman was the Register’s Orange County player of the year in 2007. (Here is a link to the story.)  Spoiler alert: The Braves had just drafted him and were talking about moving him to first base instead of making him a pitcher.

How did that turn out?

Maybe this will give you a clue …
